Our story began in 2009 when Sarafan Sports was founded as a small retailer of sporting goods, clothing, and accessories. Our commitment to sports and fitness has propelled us forward since the very start, constantly pushing us to offer the best possible services to our valued clients and customers.
In 2010, we acquired our first gym in Bristol, which we named “The Armoury.” We originally planned to turn The Armoury into a full sports shop and move the gym to an adjacent building called “The Stronghold.” However, a last-minute change occurred, and the building to house the new gym was canceled. Instead, The Armoury became our first gym and online store in one.
After acquiring a second gym which became “The Armoury Woman” a specialised women’s fitness gym, we developed a gym management program called “SGM” (Sarafan Gym Management), which is now the foundation of the services we provide to independent gyms, self employed personal trainers, martial arts clubs and more.
Today, we offer a range of sports equipment, apparel, and accessories, as well as business and self-employed services to help individuals and businesses be in shape.

I am Abdel, a recent graduate from Morocco who is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Information Systems Engineering. I have a degree in Informatics and Contracting Management from 2019 and have had a few different jobs in the past. As a qualified gym instructor and PT since 1998, I have a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve your fitness goals. I’ve been involved in many things, from gym floor instruction and group training, managing businesses and leisure centres, being lined up to be a Gladiator on the TV series re-launch in 2008 (which I eventually declined), and working as a fitness model. My extensive knowledge and experience have culminated in me achieving a Level 4 Diploma in Nutrition.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that ambition and drive can achieve many things. That’s why I’m grateful for the valuable lessons that come with experience. But if I could do it all over again, I would do it even better.
